Newsroom By The Bay, a journalism and digital literacy summer training program for youth, invited American Creed director Sam Ball to keynote their summer 2018 session. Ball screened American Creed and facilitated a discussion about the film, and how journalists might create work that fosters conversation supporting shared investment in American democracy.

On July 4th students participated in a day long reporting challenge interviewing people to ask American Creed’s central question, “What does it mean to be American?” You can view the results of the challenge as well as the students’ live tweets of Sam Ball’s visit on Twitter here.
